The Orlando Poetry Chambers of Commerce (OPCC) was founded by poets, for poets, and all about poets. If you heard it once you heard it before...Orlando has so much talent. Yes folks, O-Town does have talent across the board, especially with the Spoken Word, but how can we get it out there? By bringing quality literary events to OUR scene, the Orlando scene.
The OPCC is a cultural forum for "our community". You will see a lot of changes to this site, that's because "our community" is growing beyond the downtown coffeehouses and Heritage Square, to the Parramore, Azalea Park, John Young, Curry Ford, UCF, Pine Hills and other districts. With this growth comes different forms of poetic expression.
This OPCC thing is all about coming together and communicating with each other, so it doesn't matter if your verses follow the scholastic, classical forms, or are the bawdy toasts of the South, or the free-form, explicative SLAM, one thing is certain...unity feeds growth.
Whether you are old, young, short, tall, skinny, round, black, white, yellow, or brown, you are welcome here at the Orlando Poetry Chambers of Commerce to act like yourself and BE HEARD! The only thing that will be asked of you is to support each other and give back to those that give.
See you 'round town,
OPCC
